Hoffnung Assisted Living
CONCEPT
Hóffnung (Hope) is a senior living center located in Hamburg, Germany. The facility focuses on rehabilitation care and accompanying short-term skilled nursing. Hamburg, Germany is known for one of the biggest transportation hubs, the Port of Hamburg. The city has survived many tragedies such as war and fires. I decided to base my concept on the national flower of Germany, the cornflower. The meaning of a cornflower is “positive hope for the future”. The history of Hamburg and Germany in general has gone through so much, but got through all the bad with hope.

Level One
As you enter Hoffnung you will see an open floor plan. First thing to the left will be the reception with the cornflower mural painted in the back ground. The residents will be able to enjoy the spacious lobby and beer garden which has access to the outdoors. The grand staircase encourages exercise, and has easy access to the second floor. The mail area is placed in the open lobby for the convenience of the residents.

Level Two
The second floor of Hoffnung, residents will be able to enjoy the multi-purpose room, hair salon, and lounge area. All of the office spaces are located on the second floor, for easier access to communicate with each other.

Level Three
The Hoffnung Living has one bedroom and studio apartment living spaces, both spaces their own kitchen, bathroom, and living area. The spaces receive lots of sunlight, which will improve our residents mood. Each residential floor has access to a laundry room, lounge area, and a computer room.
